Mary is fully registered as an osteopath with the GOsC, the official organisation which accredits qualified practitioners for competence and safety.
Mary gained her degree in Osteopathy in 2001 at the British School of Osteopathy: this four year full-time course covers a wide range of subjects including anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, clinical methods and a broad range of treatment techniques.
The core skill in osteopathy is palpation. This is the sense of touch, as applied to the human body, that osteopaths develop to an extraordinarily high level in a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical training.
Since obtaining her degree, Mary has extended her professional training into the field of cranial Osteopathy. After discussing her findings and diagnosis with her patient, Mary may use these skills in treatment
